Petition to the United States Congress

House Resolution 304, Presidential Impeachment Inquiry

Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution says: "The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors."

Whereas, serious charges of criminality have been made against the President and Vice President of the United States; and

Whereas, the Constitution of the United States charges the House of Representatives with primary and exclusive authority to address questions of criminal conduct involving the President and Vice President; and

Whereas, it is unfair to the Clinton Administration and to the American people to permit any further delay in resolving these charges; and

Whereas, only in the context of an official House Judiciary Committee Impeachment Investigation can we find out whether impeachment of Bill Clinton and Al Gore may be legally warranted.

Therefore, we, the undersigned urge your co-sponsorship of H. Res. 304 -- Congressman Bob Barr's Resolution to launch an official inquiry to determine whether impeachment shall be initiated with respect to President Clinton.
